During the convening of the Two Meetings [National People＇s Congress s Chinese People＇s Political Consultative Committee）,Li Shutu, representative to the NPC submitted a proposal to the Ministry ol Public Security off the relorming in the undertaking of fire-control.The pro- posal revealed some misconducts in the Chinese national fire-lighting system and raised corresponding strategy on the reforming thereof. As the Chinese economy develops, fire-control,a task related to the building of national economy and the safety ol people＇s lives and properties,has become a project of paramount importance. In the new his-torical era,tllere are new situation and new problems for the undertaking ol lire-control. The relorm of lire-control needs prolessionalization ,some NPC representatives appealed.The gap between the lifecontrol in China and those in developed nations lies not on the advancement of equipments hut on the system ol management.Relics from the lime ol planned economy have resulled in various inconsistencies ill market economy.
