香港上海汇丰银行有限公司于2003年12月15日开始发行100元和500元新版港币,2004年10月11日发行20元、50元、和1000元新版港币。2003年版港币防伪特征主要表现在纸张、油墨、印版和印刷技术等4个方面。
The new editions of 100 and 500 HK dollar were issued by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited on December 15th, 2003 and the new editions of 20, 50 and 1000 HK dollar were issued by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited on October 11th, 2004. The anti-counterfeiting characteristics of 2003 edition HK dollar are mainly represented in the 4 aspects of paper quality, printing ink, printing plate and printing technology.
The major charactedstics of the paper used to print the HK dollar are as follows: 1) The paper is made of natural fiber and achromatic fluorescence; 2) There are two safety threads, including micro letter design, micro holographical letter design; 3) Compared with the former HK dollar, the new edition has two kinds of watermark, black watermark and white watermark.
The printing ink is a special kind of magnetic, fluorescent, optically variable, and pearly-luster ink.
Three types of printing plate are used in the printing of the 2003 edition HK dollar: surface printing, protruding printing and concave printing.
As to the printing technology, 5 kinds of techniques are adopted. They are interface connection pdnting, rainbow printing, double-faced printing, concealed letter printing and micro letter printing.
