In the past year, the hottest topic in the business community is undoubtedly the 'foreign acquisition'. The industry-leading Chinese companies getting involved with foreign acquisitions include Xuzhou Construction Machinery, Shuanghui Group, Tongyi Petroleum, Huiyuan Group, Topsun Pharmaceutical, Five Star Appliance, Supor Cookware, The Home World Hypermarket, Shuangma Cement, Guangdong Development Bank and etc. Reasons for foreign acquisition vary from restructuring from the old system, globalization ambition, tiring of endless price wars, being squeezed by the cash flow shortage, cashing in wealth and so on. However, the current situation might be just a beginning.
