水族最直观的外部标志是服饰,尤其是妇女的服饰。三都水族自治县三洞、九阡、丰乐、普安、都江等五个片区的水族妇女服饰,其颜色、款式、装饰,同中有异,异中有同;其装束样式、质料、色彩、服饰种类亦随时代的演变而演变。

The outer symbol of Shui ethnic Group which can be most directly perceived through the senses is the costumes, especially the ones of women. The costumes of the women of Shui ethnic group in 5 areas of Sandu Autonomous County namely Sandong, Jiuqian, Fengle, Puan, and Dujiang have difference in similarity and similarity in difference in terms of their colour, style, and ornaments. The fashion, texture, color, type of ornaments evolve as the time changes.
