和生福兮 福多安兮——土家鱼木寨墓碑“福”意向分析

The Images of the Chinese Character "Fu(Blessing) "Carved on the Funeral Monuments in Tujia Yumu Village

湖北利川的鱼木寨现存大型古墓葬共有10余座,其中精华三处的石碑上都刻有一个亦字亦画、耐人寻思的“福”字。它是一种装饰设计,既与汉族的“福”相同,又独具本民族的文化内涵,如生育崇拜、图腾崇拜、宗教崇拜、自然崇拜等。

There are over 10 big ancient graves in Yumu village of Lichuan in Hubei province. Of these graves, there are three best stone monuments on which a Chinese character ＂Fu＂（blessing） is engraved. This character is both like a character and a picture, interesting to read and meaningful. With unique Tujia characteristic.s, it is not only a kind of decoration, but also similar to the Chinese character ＂Fu＂ （blessing） of Han nationality. It also takes on such cultural connotations and social cultural functions as birth worship, totem worship, religion worship and nature worship.
