I. New opportunity for Hong Kong barristers to obtain access to the legal service market in the Mainland
Annex 3 of the Closer Economic Partnership Arrangement （CEPA） signed between the Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong in 2003 permits Hong Kong barristers to provide representation in civil cases in trial by Mainland courts, thus opening the door for the hundreds of Hong Kong barristers to enter the legal service market in the Mainland.
