我国高等教育大众化进程中面临的挑战

Challenges in the Process of Popularization of Higher Education in China

2002年，我国高等教育历史性地跨入国际公认的高等教育大众化发展阶段，标志着从精英教育走向大众化教育将成为我国高等教育今后发展的一个重要主题。但在我国，如何推进高等教育大众化进程、实现高等教育的大众化，主要面临着“跨越式发展与经费不足”、“多元社会需求与高教结构单一”、“大众教育平等与精英教育特权”等方面的挑战。

In the year 2002, higher education in China historically entered the stage of internationally-recognized popularization, which marks that the transformation from elite education to mass education will become an important theme of higher education in the future. But challenges arise concerning how to promote the process of popularization and realize the popularization of higher education：＂great-leap-forward development and shortage of money＂, ＂diversified social demands and single structure of higher edu cation＂, and ＂equality in mass education and privilege in elite education＂.
