In the great master of Post-colonialism, Said's eyes, "the orient" is a fictitious place as the "Other" standing for primitivity, mystery, backwardness which forms a contrast with "the Occident", the Western countries as the "center". The "oriental" image strengthens the Westerner' superiority, consolidates the status of Western cultures and peripherizes Eastern cultures. Under the context of Post-colonialism, translation as the bridge between different cultures not only plays the role of conversion from one language to another, but also forms a close link with culture, politics and ideology. Translation has become a forceful weapon for the "Other" to fight against cultural hegemony, to remove the "oriental" image left by the colonists and to carry forward the eastern cultures.
