摘要 翻译家们为翻译所下的种种定义和对翻译理论的解释,难以帮助上课老师提高学生的翻译能力;各类假设的翻译教科书,也不完全适用于不同语言的翻译教学。教学过程中常会发现,缺乏对泰语词义、句子结构和表达形式的理解是学生翻译中的主要问题。笔者在本文中表述了对泰语翻译的看法,并摘选学生在翻译练习中出现的错误句子作分析比较,归纳出其错误主要是由于对原文的不理解、知识面不够广、对译文习惯用语的掌握和运用能力不强等。 The various translation definitions and theories provided by translation theorists cannot help teachers much in the development of translation competence of students. The large pile of fabricated translation textbooks are not fit for the translation teaching of different languages too. For a translation teacher, the most important job is to know clearly his students' difficulties in translation learning and accordingly equip them with the competence in language use. In Thai translation teaching it is often found that students' major problem with translation lies in their inability to fully understand the word meaning, sentence structure and forms of expression of the Thai language. The present paper begins by briefly presenting the author's personal understanding of translation. Then, a detailed analysis is made of typical mistakes found in students' translation exercises, leading to a tentative conclusion that such mistakes can be attributed to a misunderstanding of the source language, lack of encyclopedic knowledge, and a poor mastery of the fixed expressions of both the source and target languages.
