论赛义德及其批评观

On Said and his Conception of Criticism

摘要 作为一位后殖民主义理论家,以及由于其独特的写作背景,这使得赛义德对批评有着自身的与众不同的理解。在理论纷呈的今天,赛义德没有像新批评理论家那样将自己批评局限于文本之内,也没有使其堕入后结构主义的虚无之中。赛义德的批评观,首先是他对文本主义等理论观点的看法,其次是对批评的世俗性和意识形态性的坚持,最后通过“对位阅读”的方法,捕捉文本中种族和帝国的痕迹。 As a post-colonial critic, Said's has his own distinctive conception of criticism due his specific writing background. In the contemporary world, various schools of literary theory mushroom up into existence. Said does not limit his criticism within the narrow sphere of textuality. At the time, he guards against the nihilism of post-structuralism. This paper attempts to elaborate his ideas on criticism from the following perspectives: firstly, it tells about Said's critique of the emphasis of textuality; secondly, the author analyses Said's insistence on the worldliness and the ideological nature of criticism; lastly, the author gives a brief account of how he analyses the complicity between texts and Orientalism by the method of contrapuntal reading.
