On the Connotations of Moral Reason

道德理性是指道德主体分析道德情境,进行道德推理,确立自己的行为准则的理性能力。道德理性能力的成果最终积淀为道德规范和道德原则。它包括两方面的内涵一是规范性内涵;二是功能性内涵。道德理性的规范性内涵与功能性内涵是紧密结合在一起的道德理性的规范性内涵是功能性内涵的必然结果,功能性内涵是规范性内涵的理论渊源,道德理性通过规范性内涵为自己立法,通过功能性内涵为自己的法则寻求根据,二者在道德的实践性上融为一体。

The expression ＂moral reason＂ refers to the rational capability with which a moral subject analyzes moral circumstances, conducts moral reasoning and establishes his own standards of behaviours; and the achievements of capability of moral reason can accumulate to be ethics and moral principles in the end. It consists of connotations of two aspects, one is normativeness, and the other is functionality. The two connotations of normativeness and functionality are closely related, which are inseparable. Normativeness is a necessary result of functionality, while functionality is the theoretical source for normativeness. Moral reason seeks to establish laws for itself by means of normativeness, and look for grounds for its rules by means functionality. And the two are united in terms of the practicality of morality.
