Ci Poets in the Late Qing Dynasty:Their Ci Theory and Their Theory of Criticism

晚清词坛,创作繁荣,理论活跃,诞生了陈廷焯、况周颐、王国维等一批著名的词人,产生了《白雨斋词话》、《蕙风词话》、《人间词话》等词学理论名著。他们各自提出了“沉郁顿挫”、“重拙大”、“境界”等鲜明的词学主张,并以之指导词学批评实践,影响深远。

The literary arena of the late Qing Dynasty was characterized by prosperous literary creation and vigorous boom of literary theories, thus a host of renowned ci poets such as Chen Ting-chao, Kuang Zhou-yi, Wang Guo-wei, etc. emerged and a series of famous works on ci theories like Bai Yu Zhai Ci Hua, Hui Feng Ci Hua and Ren Jian Ci Hua were written. The ci poets had advanced their distinct principles of ci creation respectively and had applied them in their respective practice of ci creation, thus having exerted a far-reaching influence.
