China’s multilateral diplomacy in Africa is not well developed in comparison with its participation in the international arena and its multilateral relations in the Asia-Pacific region and Europe.China needs to define Africa’s position within its overall diplomatic strategy,and the importance of Chinese African multilateral diplomacy needs to be understood.The strategic basis and focus of this multilateral diplomacy should be reassessed and broadened.In practice,China should refine the operation of the Forum on China-Africa Co-operation,cooperate with the African Union and other African sub-regional organizations,and work together with African countries in the international arena.
