Culture,language and translation are supplements and preconditions for each other,and translation is an inter-linguistic and inter-cultural activity.This paper tries to probe into the pragmatic differences of languages in different cultures and its influence on translating strategies by comparing the cultural connotations of Chinese color term ＂黑＂ and English color term ＂black＂.
