从外交哲学的视角理解“和谐世界”理念能够使人们更深入地解释“和谐世界”的内涵。新中国的外交哲学是一个开放的体系,它有中华传统文化、马克思主义、西方进步思想三个来源,其中和合文化是其根源与核心。中国外交思想蕴涵着丰富的哲理,这是外交哲学与外交实践互动的逻辑必然。“和谐世界”是和合精神的时代反映,也是对“求同存异”思想的一种超越。

It is a good approach to understand the idea of building a harmonious world initiated in 2005 from a philosophical perspective. Chinese philosophy on diplomacy can be traced back to three sources, i.e. the first source consists of Chinese traditional philosophy and harmonious spirit at the core of it; the second is Marxism; and the third comes from the essence of the foreign cultures. There are rich philosophical thoughts in Chinese diplomacy, i.e. co-existence, seeking a common ground while reserving the differences, mutual understanding and mutual accommodation, and common development. And it is an output of interaction between Chinese philosophy and diplomatic practice. The idea of building a harmonious world is the reflection of the Chinese philosophy, which emphasizes harmony and integration. Meanwhile the idea transcends that of seeking a common ground while reserving the differences.
