The Study of Pragmatic Failure of Address Forms an Adaptation Approach

称呼语是语言中不可缺少的部分,对于日常交际有着重要影响。语用失误是指在言语交际中,由于语言使用不得体而造成的失误。称呼语的语用失误会导致语言交际失败。运用顺应理论可以探索称呼语的语用失误原因,诸如说话者忽视了语言使用者,社交世界,社会文化,心理世界等语境因素的动态顺应而导致交际失败。

Address forms play a prominent role in daily communication. Ignorance of the system of address forms and related cultures wiU inevitably lead to communication breakdowns and pragmatic failures. This paper aims to explain the cause of pragnuttic failure of address forms with Verschuenren＇ theory of adaptation. It points out that the main cause of pragmatic failure of address forms is that in the course of communication either the utterer or the interpreter fails to adapt language to communicative context.
