The test principles and methods of many types of instruments in the recent years for absolute measurements of reflectance, transmittance and absorptance of specular samples are first summarized. The article also points out excellence and disadvantage of these instruments each. Then the principle, feature and its solved problem in the future of a new designed test instrument of themselves is putted forward for high precision of absolute measurements of reflectance, transmittance and absorptance.
