Multiple gateways-based Internet connectivity for mobile ad hoc networks

摘要 为了将移动自组网与Internet相连,提出了一个通用的独立于路由协议的互连框架。阐述了地址自动配置和分组路由的过程。针对多网关的情况,给出了基于动态公告TTL值和动态公告间隔的自适应网关发现算法,提高网关发现的效率。并在网关切换过程中,通过预先建立与新网关之间路由的方法,实现快速平滑的切换。仿真实验表明:应用这两种算法能够显著提高分组递交率并降低端到端延迟。互连协议的平均开销约为路由协议的20%,不会给网络带来太多的负担。 A common framework which is independent of underlying routing protocols is presented to connect mobile ad hoc networks to the wired Internet. Address autoconfiguration and routing are discussed. When multiple gateways exist, the framework adopts an adaptive gateway discovery algorithm based on the dynamic TTL of the advertisement and the dynamic interval between two advertisements to achieve high efficiency. When gateway handoff occurs, the framework obtains fast handoff performance by pre-establishing a route to the new gateway. Simulations show that these two algorithms efficiently improve the packet delivery ratio and reduce the end-to-end packet delay. The average control overhead is about 20% of that of the routing protocol, thus it will not add too much load to the network.
