摘要
陈序经早年受到过严格的美国社会学知识的系统训练,具备较厚实的理论基础,具有运用社会学理论研究社会问题的能力。他在对社会问题的研究中,逐渐形成了辩证法、多元论与实用主义相结合的原则立场与“语源分析”的方法,为其从事文化学研究提供了基本的价值准则与论证方式。由于深受美、德社会学、人类学的陶染,陈序经以辩证法、多元论与实用主义的价值取向,审视进化论、传播论与批判学派,逐步形成了自己的以辩证发展观与文化多元主义为中心的“新进化论”思想。“新进化论”是陈序经文化学的基础,是他探寻人类文化发展以及破解不同地区、不同民族之间文化差异的一般法则的理论。也正是由于其价值取向的限制,陈序经的文化学不可避免地存在着重大缺陷。
In his early years, Chen Xujing received strict training of American sociology and he was good at studying social problems by applying sociological theories. Influenced by American and German sociology and anthropology, taking dialectics, pluralism and pragmatism as the values, Chen Xujing formed his "new evolutionism" which is centered on dialectical development and cultural pluralism. The "new evolutionism" is the basis of his culturology and the principle which he applied in exploring human cultural development and interpreting the cultural differences of various regions and nationalities. Owing to the limitation of his values, Chen Xujing's eulturology has serious defects.
