A brief introduction is given to the benefits and experience of Xiaolangdi Multipurpose Dam Project by use of foreign loans.The use of foreign loans has effectively ensured the smooth achievements of project objective,improved the management and supervision of the project,enhanced the match of the construction management system with the international practices,made contributions to the exploring management mode with Xiaolangdi style and future update of FIDIC contract,as well as pushed the resettlement and environment protection.The major problem experienced in the construction is that claims incurred involved a huge amount of money.Some countermeasures are put forward.
