MRI diagnosis of Chiari's malformation

目的：探讨Chiari畸形的MRI影像表现，评价MRI对Chiari畸形的诊断价值。方法：回顾性分析MRI及手术证实的15例Chiari畸形的MRI表现。结果：小脑扁桃体下缘变尖12例。下疝至枕骨大孔平面下3．5～21mm，12例伴有脊髓空洞。结论：MRI能清楚显示Chiari畸形病灶的部位及形态，是其最好的影像学检查方法；脊髓空洞是Chiari畸形主要合并症。

Objective To explore the MRI features in the diagnosis of Chiari＇s malformation and evaluate their value. Methods The MRI findings of Chiari＇s malformation in 15 cases were retrospectively analyzed. Fifteen patients with Chiari＇s malformation were proved by MRI and operation. Results The caudal poles of the tonsiles were pointed in 12 cases, the cerebellar tonsillar hernia was 3. 5 - 21 mm below the foramen magnum, and 12 cases were with syringomyelia. Conclusion MRI can well display the location and shape of Chiari＇s malformation. MRI is the first choice for demonstrating Chiari＇s malformation. Syringomyelia is a primary concomitant symptom of Chiari＇s malformation.
