In 2006, total sales of heavy-duty trucks reached 307,296 units, a 30.55 % increase over 2005 figures, a clear sign of recovery. However, the market shares of FAW and Dong Feng both decreased respectively, while Steyr brand products maintained growth. Moreover, Indus- try new comers such as Hua Ling and JAC demonstrated their strong competitive potential in the market, indicating even fiercer competition is predicated for 2007.
