My Viewpoint on the Essence of Truth

传统教科书把真理本质属性定义为“客观性”,这一规定无视真理的获得与检验是一个主体创造的过程,是各种主体性因素共同作用的结果,从而夸大了真理本质属性中的客观性成分。因此,必须全面把握真理的本质属性:从抽象层面上看,真理决不是纯客观的,是主观与客观的统一;从思维具体层面上看,真理决不仅止于是真实的,是真、善、美的统一。

In the traditional textbook, the essence of truth was defined as “objectivity”. But this definition disregarded the fact that seeking and testing truth is a subjective creative process, as well as the result of all subjective faetorsinteraction, thus magnifying the objective factors in the essence of truth. Therefore, people must fully grasp the essence of truth. From the point of the abstract level, truth is not mere purely objectivity, but is the unity of subjectivity and objectivity. From the point of the concrete level, truth is not only the truth, but also the unity of truth, goodness and beauty.
