China and Argentina jointly set up a satellite laser range （SLR） station at Observatorio Astronomico Felix Aguilar （OAFA） of San Juan National University of Argentina recently, The inauguration ceremony was held on October 20, 2006 at OAFA. The 60cm-diameter telescope and some other instruments of the station are provided by National Astronomical Observatory, Chinese Academy of Sciences （NAOC）. It＇s the biggest astronomical cooperation program of China in South America. The station will be used to carry out astronomical observation.
