Different Views Result from Varied Angles——An Analysis of the Results from the Fourth National Reading Survey

第四次“全国国民阅读调查”结果引起了人们广泛的重视。本文从阅读的定义、现状、阅读率下降的原因以及阅读今后的走势几方面对调查的初步结果进行了解读,指出传统阅读率下降是阅读多元化现状下的一种必然趋势。

A great deal of attention was paid to the Fourth National Reading Survey. This paper analyzes the preliminary results of the survey from several aspects： the definition of reading, current state of reading, causes for a decrease in the percentage of population that read at least one book annually, and the future trend of reading. The paper maintains that the decrease in books＇ readership is an inevitable trend given the current development of multi-media reading.
