摘要
全球化、信息与沟通技术革命和高等教育大众化对提升大学教学质量提出了怎样的挑战呢?毫无疑问,为应对全球化和信息与沟通技术革命的挑战,提高教学质量是大众化时代的高等教育保持竞争力的前提。学生来源的多元化要求大学教师具备因材施教的能力,促使学习过程个性化。全球知识经济越来越要求大学教学以问题为导向,致力于解决具体问题。信息与沟通技术迫使大学采用新策略来获取信息以及使用“电子”的形式组织学习,以使学生的学习成果直接与相关的职业生涯紧密结合起来,而且学习是“及时发生”,而不是同过去那样“也许发生”。文章结论指出,大学管理面临的挑战是如何促进教师发展、如何重构大学使其成为学习型组织以及如何聘任优秀的教师。
How do globalisation, ICT and mass higher education challenge universities to enhance teaching quality? The key assumption of this paper is that increased teaching quality is the main condition on which to keep mass higher education competitive under the challenges from globalisation and the ICT-revolution. The greater diversity of students' source of enrolment requires university teachers' ability to suit their instruction to their students' level in order to individualize the learning process. Moreover, the current global knowledge economy increasingly demands that university teaching should be problem-oriented and aim at solving concrete problems. The information and communication technology forces universities to apply new strategies to obtain information and employ an "electronic" form to organize students in their studies to make their learning achievements directly relevant to their professional life. The learning happens "just in time", and not "just in case" as often happened before. In conclusion, the paper points out that the challenges which university management is facing are how universities should promote staff development, how they should restructure themselves into staff's learning-type organisations and how they recruit excellent members.
