论明初“湖湘双杰”

Talk about Two Outstanding Persons of Hunan in First Phase of Ming Dynasty (1368-1644)

古代湖南人才稀少,但也产生过一些杰出的人才。被誉为明初“湖湘双杰”的著名文学家刘三吾和五朝重臣夏原吉就是其中比较突出的代表。他们一个在文坛上留下了很多创作的佳话和不朽的作品,另一个为明初社会经济的发展作出了突出贡献。

Hunan had few talents in ancient time. However it produced two or three outstanding talents. Liu San-wu, a famous litterateur of the early stage of the Ming Dynasty, and Xia Yuan-jie, a big old man who had spent the time of five dynasties are the outstanding members. One of them left many stories of creating. Another of them contributed much to the development of early stage of the Ming Dynasty （1368-1644）.
