Index is one of the important factors that affect the performance of relational database, such as SQL Server,Sysbase,Oracle,DB2 etc. To improve the performance of the index these relational databases provide corresponding index mechanism.This article takes SQL Server database as an example to introduce the concept of indexing, classification, features and attention matter. The article focuses on the creation and use of the index of mistake,and at the same time it gives an effective method of maintaining index.
