Punk music is a musical movement that rose in the 1960s in the West marked by its anti-traditional, anti-authoritative and even anti-societal nature. It is also a social, political movement. As punk music, Kathy Acker＇ s punk fiction creats an ＂Ackerian＂ feminist discourse through ＂terrorist＂ narrative strategies that shock people and by making fun of and subverting the traditional literature, modern politics and literary critical discourses that have the male world as their center. Acker＇ s punk fiction represents ＂one of the most violent postmodernist assaults on narrative conventions and bourgeois norms of decorum＂ as well as a warning to the American middle class and social elite that have been ＂brainwashed＂ by the dominating ideology so that they may start reevaluating American society and the related ideologies.
