当代的一些解构批评家们普遍认为福斯特隐藏在故事叙述者背后,和读者玩捉迷藏的游戏;他的话语充满讽刺,依其喜好自由地表达自己的观点。本文从福斯特的小说《霍华兹别墅》入手,从哲学、宗教信仰、连接观等三方面分析论证“福斯特是藏在柜子里的叙述者”的观点不免有失偏颇。

Some deconstructionists regard E. M. Forster as an author who always hides himself behind the narrator of the story and plays hide-and-seek with the readers, trying to express the ideas, as he likes in Howards End. This paper focuses on refuting such an idea through analyses of philosophy, religion and connection.
