Conceptual Integration,Pragmatic Inference and Metonymic Cognition

转喻基于邻近联想,不仅仅是一种修辞格,更是人类感知、认识客观世界以及指称、描述事物的重要手段。转喻既有开放性,又有多维性、临时性、创造性。转喻与隐喻在本质上是一致的,它以人的生活经验为基础,用一种体验、经历去映射、构建和设定另一种经验与存在,使其更加生动、更加直观。本文从认知语言学和语用学的理论出发,论述了转喻与语用推理、转喻与概念整合的关系,分析了转喻在语言运用中的特点和功能,并从跨空间投射映现理论的视角,探讨了转喻的成因。

Metonymy, based on contingency, is a basic way of thinking rather than a figure of speech, an important means hy which human heing perceive the world, realize the objective world and describe the objects. Metonymy has the opening, conceptual, multi-dimensional, contingent, and creative features. Therefore, metonymy, similar in nature as metaphor, according to an experience, can project and construct another experience, thus making our language more vivid and more direct. This paper, based on the theories of cognitive linguistics, analyzes the features and functions of metonymy in the process of language use, especially discusses the causes of metonymic projection from the cross mental spaces.
