任何语篇的写作，都是为了交际。只有语义连贯的语篇，才能达到此目的。语篇的连贯通过各种衔接手段体现出来。本文通过分析具体译例，指出明确原文所用的衔接手段对翻译的重要性。

The purpose of any discourse is to communicate. This purpose can only be fulfilled in cohesive discourse. Cohesion is embodied in the use of coherent devices. Based on the analysis of mistakes in a translated discourse, the thesis exemplifies the importance of identifying the coherent devices in E-C translation.
