A new and useful coding scheme is given in this paper,therefor the difficulties in definiting nodes and elements when using finite element analysis on the metal body structure of tower crane are solved. This has made it be possible that the body structure would be generater automatically in accord with standard structure. Also it is very helpful to the consulting and the editing of the nodes and the elements.
