By introducing the additional and revised descri.ption on antimicrobial agent monographs and appendices in the recent five editions of the United Stated Pharmacopoeia. The characterization, application of antimicrobial agents and assay methods used were summarized, and accordingly compared with the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2005 edition.
