Secularization and Value Return of High-level Research Universities

高水平研究型大学是综合美国研究型大学分类和我国对研究型大学的特定理解而出现的复合概念。由于对高水平研究型大学目标所蕴涵的核心价值认识不清,使得高水平研究型大学建设过程中,面对我国工业化、市场化的压力和诱惑,出现了值得注意的“世俗化”倾向。高水平研究型大学应区别于一般层次的大学,固守大学的理想,实现大学本质价值的回归,其核心是培养超脱世俗的自由意识、责任意识、学术意识。

High-level research university is a compound concept by unifying American classification of research universities and understanding of high-level universities and research universities in China. Because of unclear understanding of the core value of high-level research universities, there are noticeable tendency of secularization in face of lure of industrialization and merchandization in China. So the concept should be clarified that the high-level research universities must stick to the ideals of the university, and realize the essence of the university, which will distinguish them from common universities. The core of it is to cultivate awareness of freedom, responsibility, and academies that surpass secularization.
