Individual Quality——the Foundation of the Harmonious Society

和谐社会是一种新的社会理念,它的提出对当代社会的进步和发展具有十分积极的意义。从人的角度认识和理解和谐社会理念,提出个体素质是建立和谐社会的根基,提高个体素质既是人自身的需要,又是国家和社会的责任,在此基础上阐明教育应担当起提高个体素质的重任,从而促进和谐社会逐步形成。

The harmonious society is a new concept. The concept is of positive significance to the eontemporary society＇s progress and development. From the human perspective, individual quality is the foundation to establish the harmonious society. To improve the individual quality is not only the request of each citizen, but also the responsibility of the country and society. On this basis this paper clarifies that education should take the responsibility to improve the individual quality, and thereby to accelerate the formation of the harmonious society gradually.
