"Refinement"——the Original Category of Chinese Ancient Literature Theory

“雅”是中国古代文论的元范畴,“雅”的精神贯穿于中国传统文化,“雅”的风格融贯中国传统文学、音乐、书法、绘画等艺术领域,一直被视为艺术追求的最高审美理想。“雅”本身所具有的理论张力使其呈现出多重审美形态,同时以“雅”为核心形成一套范畴群,构建起中国文学的雅化诗学传统,“雅”由风格论范畴进而融入本体论和主体论范畴体系,体现了天人合一的民族精神。

＂Refinement＂ is an important literature style and aesthetics category in Chinese ancient literature theory. The spirit of ＂Refinement＂ exists in all aspects of China tradition culture ,for example, literature, music, calligraphy and painting. Refined style is the highest aesthetics ideal in art. The paper intents to discuss the reason that ＂Refinement＂ be thought as a original category of ancient literature theory and aes- thetics value of ＂Refinement＂ from four aspects： 1. The meaning of the word of＂ Refinement＂ at the time before Qin Dynasty; 2. The special request to creative process of the refined Style; 3. The aesthetic form of the refined style ;4. The aesthetic value and function of the category of ＂Refinement＂.
