This article probes into the cultural implication of bucket arches (a system in whichbrackets are inserted between the top'of a column and a crossbeam)--a specieal member inancient Chinese timber structure o.f big style, using the book of 'the Changing Canon of ZhouDynasty'for reference, it is far beyond the former suggestion that bucket arches was regarded ashaving the significance of the structural member and decoration, it was a sacrificial vessel anddiction of the former official buildings and it embodied the ancient orohodox ideas. As an intense expression, it is SYMBOL. To further probe into the evolving and solidifying course of bucket arches in form of a symbol, it is 'found that bucket arches was influenced by the ancient Chinese framed mode of t'hinking of 'managing financial affairs and standardizing diction'of Xici from the book of 'the Changing Canon of Zhou Dynasty'.
