This paper introduces the status and its historical change of Rizhao Port. It analyses the main characteristics of Rizhao Port ＇s economic development and the main measures for speeding up the economic development of Chinese ports, according to the principles that Chinese ports have to abide by for developing economy, such as building up a good environment, transforming the operation system of enterprise, raising the core competetive force of ports etc.
