Gemini surfactant is a new kind of surfactants, and is also called as the third generation of surfactants. In Gemini surfactant molecular, there are two hydrophilic groups and two hydrophobic groups. This article reviewed the structures, synthesis, properties and application of Gemini surfactants based on the new research achievement.
