解读《指物论》

Hermeneutics of Zhi Wu Lun

通过逐层剖析公孙龙《指物论》,认为该文的本意是指:事物的名称以及人对事物的陈述之“指”,皆可以为“非指”,而作为人在人类社会生活中所处的社会地位及其职责,即“名分”之“指”与前者不同,它是与人俱生的;因此,“名分”之“指”不可为“非指”。公孙龙作此文的目的在于为“礼崩乐坏”下的“名分”正名。

By analyzing Zhi Wu Lun by Gong Sunlong, this article holds that Zhi Wu Lun has the following meanings： the names of things and the denotations by human beings can all be called Untruth. However, as the ranks and roles of human beings in society, the denotations of themselves are different from the former, for human beings are born with ranks in society. Therefore, the ranks of human beings in society cannot be called Untruth. From this point, the purpose of Zhi Wu Lun is to make sure the rank of human beings in society at that time.
