The basic framework of the international structure taking shape after the end of the Cold War, in which the sole superpower exists with a number of big powers, will not change in a short period of time. However, changes in the balance of power between the sole superpower and other big powers, and contention and struggle between unilateralism and multilaterlism, will persist all the time with some quantitative changes in the meantime which have manifested themselves more clearly than ever in 2006. In the near future, all the forces in the international structure, and big power status in particular, will surely be altered accordingly as quantitative changes take place.
