The Present Situation and Progress of Jackfruit Research

菠萝蜜是一种集鲜果食用、药用、林木为一身的优良果树,就近10年来对菠萝蜜价值的研究、种质资源的起源、分类与保存、生物学特性,以及栽培生理、引种和品种选育、育苗技术、病虫害防治、采后保鲜和储藏加工等方面的研究做了系统的综述,并就今后菠萝蜜研究的重点提出建议,认为应重视种质资源收集、保存,和品种选育以及栽培技术的研究。

Jackfruit is an excellent fruit, which is not only edible, but also could be used for medicine and timber. On the base of related literature that published in last 10 years, this article tried to make a comprehensive view about its research on its utilization, the biology characteristic, origin, investigation, classification and preservation of the germplasm resources, the variety introduction and selective breeding, the physiology, propagation, the studies on plant diseases, the fresh fruit preservation and the preserve processing after picking. It also offers some proposals on the key points of its future research, for example, enhancing the work for the germplasm collection and preservation, and studies on its breeding and producing technology in jackfruit.
