本文认为,市场经济概念的提出、确认、形成和发展有一个过程。改革开放初期,在计划与市场关系的大讨论中隐含着这一概念,当时所讨论的是计划与市场谁大谁小的问题,后来发展到以谁为主及覆盖面的问题,然后才提出市场化或市场取向改革的问题。真正提出市场经济概念的是邓小平同志,他在1985年就使用过这个概念,并在1992年南巡讲话中公开使用了这一概念。1992年十二届三中全会的中央文件中公开提出把社会主义市场经济体制作为改革的目标模式,市场经济的概念确定了下来。社会主义市场经济的提法则是江泽民同志确定的。在学术界最早使用并论证市场经济概念的似乎是于光远同志。

The author points out that the concept of market economy experienced a process of putting forward, confirming, forming and developing. At the initial stage of reform and opening up, this concept was implied in the discussion about relationship between plan and market. It was Comrade Deng Xiao-ping who first put forward the concept of market economy in 1985, and then used this concept in his talks on his 1992 inspection tour to the South. In 1992, in documents of Third Plenary Session of the Twelfth Central Committee of the Party, socialist market economy system was taken as target mode of reform. And this concept was confirmed. It was Comrade Jiang Ze-min who confirmed the concept of socialist market economy. And it was Comrade Yu Guang-yuan who used and discussed the concept of socialist market economy in academic field.
