Research on the Features of Famous Private Schools in the Period of Republic of China

民国时期社会动荡、经济窘迫,一批私立学校在异常艰苦的办学条件下异军突起,教学质量甚至超过公立学校,成为世人称道的名校,它们在办学思想、教育宗旨、专业课程设置、校风建设、学校管理和资金筹措等方面均具有鲜明的特色。它们的成功经验对今天的私立学校仍具有积极的借鉴意义。

With the turbulence of society and economic impropriety in the Republic of China, some private schools sprang up in such embarrassing situation, whose teaching quality was even higher than the pubhc schools from some perspectives and won the reputation and honor from next generations. This paper is aiming to explore the distinctive features in the concept of their running schools,educational objectives,the estabhshment of curriculum, the creation of school spirits, teachers and teaching methods, school management and capital raising etc involved. Its successful experience will play a significant role in our private schools today.
