Liang Qichao's Idea of the Soul of China

1898年戊戌变法失败后梁启超逃亡日本,看到了中日两国之差距,随即找寻强国之路,著文办报,尤其分析“大和魂”的功效,进而探寻“中国魂”,呼吁国人重视历史教育,力倡尚武雄风。此等努力,理当肯定。

Against the background of Liang Qichao's exile in Japan after the failure of Wuxu Reform in 1898,this article begins with his comparison between the soul of China and the soul of Japan,with reference to his thoughts and his later articles-especially his profound understanding of the two types of soul.The author analyzes Liang's eager expect & endeavor to make the soul of China,that is,national self-respect and patriotism.
