John Leighton Stuart played an important role in the history of educational relation between China and the United States. He had very complicated culture background, and he was agreeable to Chinese culture. Stuart put his religious conception into Chinese education. With his help, Yenching University became the media of transmitting both Chinese and western culture and education. Thus, Yenching University became the milestone in the history of educational relation between China and the United States.
