终身教育与终身学习是21世纪的生存理念和教育理念,是在新世纪建立学习化社会的重要内容和基本环境。它们是一个问题的两个方面,是相互区别而又相互联系的,分别从不同的角度探讨它们的区别和联系,对建立学习化社会有积极的意义。

Education and Lifelong Learning are the ideas of being and education in 21th Century; they are the important parts and basic steps in building Learning Society in new century. They are two sides of the same coin, and mutually distinct and interrelated, not inseparable. Their relationship are discussed from several angles in this article, which would have a positive significance in building Learning Society.
