CRITICAL COMMENTS ON THE CLAIMED LIGHTNING REDUCTION PERFORMANCE OF LIGHTNING ELIMINATOR AND PROPOSAL FOR THE VERIFYING TEST

本文在介绍雷击放电过程的基础上说明了没有任何理论或实测数据可以证明消雷器具有不同于常规避雷针的所谓“消雷”功能。本文还提出了消雷器“限流”功能的验证试验的建议及其具体试验方案。

Based on a description of the process in lightning discharge, it is demonstrated that neither theoreticalanalysis nor field data could support the claimed lightningreduction performance of the lightning eliminator with respect to the conventional air termination. Finally, an arrangement for verifying test is proposed.
