Notes on “Particular Linguistics”

在我国目前的语言学教学和研究中,人们把重点主要放在个别语言学的教学和研究上,这样势必忽视对普通语言学的研究,这种做法的后果是外语语言学界“老谈隔壁人家的事情”和“外语界同汉语界不相往来”。本文对我国个别语言学研究所带来的问题进行剖析,指出,之所以出现目前汉语界和外语界两股力量在语言学研究方面各自为政的局面,是因为大家都在从事个别语言学研究。此外,文章还对我国外语学科个别语言学研究中的创新问题作了讨论。

A survey of language teaching and research in China shows that special attention has been paid to the study of particular linguistics rather than that of general linguistics and that this practice hinders the progress and development of linguistics as a unified science in China, The paper analyses the present Chinese situation of language and linguistics studies and discusses the possibility of original research in the study of particular languages.
